Jewish Women’s Circle
Learn. Meet. Serve. Celebrate
Dear Friend,
Would you like to
Learn:about Jewish tradition
Meet: other Jewish women in our community
Serve: the community through acts of charity and kindness
Celebrate: Jewish holidays together
Let me introduce the Jewish Women’s Circle- a group of women who have been meeting at different homes each month to study and celebrate our traditions, in a friendly environment. Our programs are geared to all women, regardless of background or affiliation.
Some of our accomplishments of the past year include:
*We doubled the amount of Cheers and Tears* trays given out. Thanks to Janet Hochfelder for all her help with this wonderful program.
*More visitations, with more participation from our women, to various nursing homes in the area.
*Higher attendance to many of our monthly events and more women getting interested and involved.
*The gala End of Year Women's Event - a smashing end to our year's programs which was enjoyed by over 45 women, and was no doubt a "first annual."
Some of our goals for the coming year include:
*An increase in community service opportunities.
*Introducing more speakers and presenters to our group.
* A women’s “Brunch and Learn” every third Wednesday of the month beginning October 17 for in-depth discussions and learning. These will be held from 10:30-11:30 am at 11 Orchard Road. The cost is $10 per session.
Building on last year’s success, Women’s Circle will meet this year the second Thursday of every month, aside from Sept. and February. Enclosed is a schedule of events for the 2007-2008 year.
Our first event, a Wine and Cheese Tasting, will be held on Sept. 6th at the home of Michele Rubinstein, 310 Macy Road, Briarcliff Manor.
If you would like to help with any of the above activities, host and/or sponsor an event, or for more information, contact Miriam @ 914-923-2522 or email JWC@ChabadBriarcliff.com
Best wishes for happy and sweet New Year! We look forward to seeing you at our events.
