Yizkor booklet

  • Each Yom Kippur, we recite the Yizkor prayer, four times, to remember and honor our loved ones who have passed away.

Yizkor is Hebrew for "Remember." It is not only the first word of the prayer, but also expresses its central theme. We ask G-d to remember the souls of our relatives and friends who have passed on.

When we recite Yizkor, we renew and strengthen our connection with our loved ones. Their memory inspires us to bring merit to their souls and elevate them in their heavenly homes.

A central part of Yizkor is our private pledge to give charity in honor of the deceased. By giving charity, we perform a positive physical deed in this world, something that our loved ones can no longer do themselves.

Their souls gain additional merit when the memory of their lives and good deeds inspires us to do more good and improve our own lives.

Each Yom Kippur, Chabad publishes a Yizkor Booklet in memory of our loved ones.

Each name in the booklet is $36.

Please fill out the form below to add the name of your loved one to this year's Yizkor Booklet.

Please submit your name(s) by Wednesday, September 16, to ensure they are included in the booklet on time.
